Out on the ranch in Idaho ...
Tad and Buster, two drovers of the old school, were on their way in for the night when Tad took a bad fall over a steep incline and lay motionless at the bottom.
Buster, fearful of the consequences, leaned over the lip of the incline and called, "Tad, 'er ye dead?"
Tad groaned and called back, "Ain't dead; but I is the worse for wear."
Buster shook his head dolefully. Said he,
"I hope its so, but ye're such a confounded liar, I don't know whether I should believe 'ye."
