Sanford, the banker, was invited aboard the yacht of an friend. All was going well when the sea became a bit rough. Disoriented on deck, Sanford was unfortunate enough to fall overboard.
His friend immediately grabbed a life preserver and held it up. He paused momentarily, as he did not know whether Sanford could swim, and called out,
"Can you float alone?"
"Of course!" the banker yelled back, "But this is a miserable time to talk business ..."
