During the time of the Czar, three serfs were fleeing toward a better life. Tired and bedraggled by their journey, they were caught at the Russian border.
"Where were you going, you three?" asked the magistrate sternly.
"I was hoping to go to England," said the first.
"My destination was Rome," said the second.
"I had planed to go to Australia," said the third.
"Australia?" asked the surprised magistrate. "Why so far?"
"Far?" muttered the fellow, "Far from where?"
