Struggling with declining attendance and overall diminished enthusiasm, a group of three pastors determined that they needed to change with the times. After some months of effort in this direction, the three were traveling together when an unfortunate accident brought them before the Pearly Gates.

St. Peter looked them over with some hesitation. Turning to the first her remarked,

"I understand you were trying to make church more appealing, but don't you think that Internet bidding for the sermons people wanted to hear was a bit extreme?"

The man hung his head, but said nothing.

"Well," St. Peter said, "I suppose we have to overlook some things."

"And you," he said turning to the second, "Running a snack bar during services?" He sighed, while this man also hung his head, and continued, "I suppose men are weak."

"But you," said he, speaking to the third, "That sign that went up about being closed during December for the holidays was going too far ..."
