The dean was truly a fine man, one who never lost his temper, was considerate, and dedicated to the principles of his profession. Once at an especially dreary faculty meeting an angel appeared.
"Because of your unselfish and exemplary behavior," the angel began, "You will be rewarded with your choice of infinite wealth, wisdom, or beauty."
Without hesitating, the dean selects infinite wisdom.
"Done!" says the angel, who promptly goes about his business.
All heads turn toward the dean, who sits surrounded by a faint halo of light.
One of his colleagues whispers, "Say something."
The dean sighs and says,
"I should have taken the money ..."
