No Teeth

Not long ago a "hellfire and damnation" preacher was giving a spirited message to his congregation. He described, in most graphic language, the events on Judgment Day and, of course, he used biblical phrases wherever possible.

"Oh, my friends," he intoned, "imagine the sufferings of the sinners as they find themselves damned at last and cast into outer darkness, removed from the gracious presence of the Lord, given over to eternal flame." "Oh, my friends, at such a time there will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth amongst them."

At this moment one of the congregation interrupted to say in words that whistled through his toothless gums:

"But Preacher, what if some of the damned has no teeth?"

The preacher stopped, stared at the questioner, then reached his decision. With a cry and crash of a fist upon the pulpit said he:

"My friends, is anything too hard for the Lord?"

"When a soul is sent to perdition, rest assured that teeth will be supplied!"
