Hardly a day passes in any consultation room wherein the physician doesn't meet up with a severe case of patient's resistance, as the following case histories illustrate:
CASE 1:
The doctor had just remarked,
"I wouldn't mind this headache if I were you,"
Whereupon, the patient sneered,
"Nor I ... if I were you."
CASE 2:
The M.D. had just proclaimed, after extensive study and examination:
"We'll have to tap your spine."
The patient was emphatic:
"No, otherwise it's the end, Doc. Nothing ever lasted in my house after it was tapped once ..."
