Ma has recently prevailed upon Pa to accompany her to a lecture on the virtues of positive thinking. In relating the experience to her neighbor shortly thereafter, Ma remarked,
"You know, I learned a lot from this. From now on, I am going to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. From now on, I am going to use the word is instead of the word not."
"You're right Ma," her friend replied. "I'm going to quit making negative statements too. Where should we start?"
"Well," said Ma, "Every time Pa comes in with his latest sure-fire lottery system, I used to always say that he was NOT fit to live with the hogs. Now, I'll just have to change that ..."
