Experts are folk who know a great deal about very little. They go along learning more and more about less and less until they know practically everything about nothing.

Lawyers, by contrast, know very little about many things. They continually learn less and less about more and more until they know practically nothing about everything.

Judges start out knowing everything about everything, but in the end come to know nothing about anything, owing to their constant association with experts and lawyers.
