Alfonso, the thief, was hurrying away from a house that he had just burglarized when he was confronted by a policeman.
"Where are you taking that trunk?" asked the man of the law, "And what is in it?"
"A man just died in that house over there," replied Alfonso, "and his family has asked that I take his personal belongings to my house."
"But if the man just died," insisted the policeman, "why are they not mourning his death?"
"Rest assured," said the thief, "you'll hear plenty of weeping very shortly ..."
