Conrad Hilton, of hotel renown, had an unusual wit and apparently very little fear. Once, when appearing opposite Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show," he was asked if he had a message for the American people.
With appropriate gravity Hilton paused momentarily, then declared slowly and distinctly to an audience approaching 30 million people:
"Please put the shower curtain inside the tub."
