Once King George VI and Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, attended a London theatre where a new production of a NoŽl Coward-Gertrude Lawrence production was being staged.

As the couple entered the royal box, the whole audience rose to its feet to honor them.

Gertrude Lawrence, who was standing in the wings, remarked,

"What an entrance."

Coward crisply replied,

"What a part!"
