As a freshly-minted school teacher, Ms. Smith was firmly of the opinion that academic excellence begins in the early years. As such, she was determined to create that properly solemn environment where real learning can occur.
Finding one of her students making faces at others on the playground, Ms. Smith stopped to gently reprove the child. Smiling sweetly the teacher said,
"When I was a child, I was told if I made ugly faces I would stay like that."
The child looked up and, without hesitating, replied,
"Well, you can't say you weren't warned ... "
