Once, during the days of the old west, a certain wealthy miner had a son in his old age. Determined that the boy would have every advantage, the fellow hired a European tutor for his son. Over dinner one evening, the tutor responded to questions from his employer as to the young man's progress:

"At the moment," explained the tutor, "we are studying algebra. I might also add that your son is doing very well in chemistry."

"Chemistry," snapped the old prospector, "Is he learning about dynamite?"

"Not yet," continued the tutor. "Dynamite comes under the heading of political science ..."
