After deciding to join the police force, a young man has struggled through weeks of exceedingly difficult training. At long last the end is in sight and he has but one crucial exam left to pass.
As he arrives in the examination room, the instructor addresses the gathering:
"Your success as police officers," said he, "will frequently depend upon your ability to deal with difficult situations that will require ingenuity and skill. This exam raises several potential situations that you may encounter at some point during your career. Successfully passing the exam will be determined by you logical and practical your responses are."
Confidently the young man opens the paper and reads the first question:
"What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?"
Not hesitating whatever he wrote his response: "Call for backup."
