The economic downturn had taken its toll and business was bad. Two salesmen met in a diner one afternoon. The long-time acquaintances worked for rival firms, but maintained a personal friendship.
"Man, this job is getting tough," said the first. "I only got three orders the whole week."
The second was intrigued. "Orders," said he, "Which three orders?"
The first stared at his plate, then explained,
"Get out, stay out, and don't come back ..."
