Once two enthusiastic young fellows had drifted somewhat left of the political center and found themselves attending the meetings of a noted socialist and agitator. Unfortunately, as the boys were of only modest means and education, much of the speaker's intellectual argument was lost on them.

"Come on now, define capital for me," said the one.

"Well," began the other, "I guess it's the money the other fellow has."

"And what's labor?"

"That's easy. Trying to get any of it away from him ..."
